What you went through to get the body you have is not easy yet you got through it. This sends out a message that a healthy lifestyle could be achieved by everyone if they choose and commit to it.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09356797848673131281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12333976.post-23127683391720394302008-02-06T09:48:00.001-05:002008-02-06T09:48:00.001-05:00I'll have to stick out my neck here on an issue of...I'll have to stick out my neck here on an issue of pure definition.

"Freak" refers to someone who enhances his or her body with chemical assitance. I have never touched a steriod, or any other hormone. I simply have an immense amount of knowledge, which I translate into calculated physique goals.

Images and body changes are a powferful stimulus to motivate individuals to live a healthier life.

Jimmy, though he keeps his shirt on, has used his image and writing to inspire others; his image is a form of motivating exhibitionism in a similar way.

To clarify the freak vs. natural distinction questions you may have; a contest where I came in dead last. In part, because I do not use chemical substances:

http://www.musculardevelopment.com/photos/transferred/DSC_0247_WSBKTDGBON.JPG

The photo is not to insult anyone who has a different lifestyle choice than I do (more professional athletes than you know make the chocie to go freaky- trust me!) I simply want to clarify what is, to me, an important point.

Thanks to all who offered supportive comments!Jean Gutierrez, PhD, RDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11863294608478840708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12333976.post-24768183359873420392008-01-18T11:25:00.000-05:002008-01-18T11:25:00.000-05:00Great motivation! Carbs are the primary source to fuel any intense workout and you will injure yourself if you train or compete at a high level and do not take in adequate amounts! I have seen and met with several triathletes in particular who have made the mistake of taking their carbs too low and suffer from poor performance and over-training"

This is complete and total nonsense. Just remember that fitness does not equal health. Athletes do not "need" carbs any more than sedentary people do. If you are entering an area where you feel you "have" to consume carbs to be successful, then you need to seriously reconsider that vocation.

Poor performance comes from inadequate nutrition and poor training protocols. Over-training is another animal altogether but neither are caused by consuming inadequate carbs. If anything, overtraining is exacerbated by too many carbs because the sugar high fools the athlete into doing more training when rest is required.

Life is about more than weight loss and competition. The potential for glycation and free radicals can not be overcome with exercise. That's why many weight lifters don't live very long and many "elite" athletes suffer from cancer and heart disease.

There are certainly myriad benefits to exercise and competition but one must start with a proper diet and good training. If that keeps you from the very top, then so be it!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11679266571603526922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12333976.post-13394011335244134922008-01-17T06:04:00.000-05:002008-01-17T06:04:00.000-05:00Wow! A lot of people I know are tired of the processed junk and eating cleaner than ever before. In fact, I've broken out of my plateau from eating exactly how she explained in the interview.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00013371355223617176noreply@blogger.com
