Most other places only have 12-packs. It's STILL HERE.

A simpler answer than all this Nutrasweet conspiracy theory is maybe the stuff just wasn't that popular! Hey, there's an idea.

Besides that, Coca Cola didn't really spend much money on it bacause they were rolling out Coke Zero at the same time, which, according to the Wikipedia article, "was Coca-Cola's biggest product launch in 22 years. It is primarily marketed towards young adult males." Further, the wiki article for Diet Coke w/Splenda says "Coca-Cola has now released Diet Coke sweetened with sucralose (also known as Splenda), although it is not as common."

The Coke Zero article goes on to say "In the U.S., advertising has been tailored to its targeted market by describing the drink as "calorie-free" rather than "diet", since young adult males are said to associate diet drinks with women."

The only reason a big company does anything is money. Money talks and bulls**t walks. Clearly, young men were a largely untapped market, so they decided to put their money in Zero instead. They'd been dumping Diet Coke on women for over 25 yrs; why not target a market that WASN'T already saturated?

The bigger question is- why are you so enfuriated over a frigging soda? I heard there's a fabulous diet beverage that comes right out of your tap, it's called water. Zero calories, zero sugar, zero guilt! And unlike Splenda, aspartame, ACE-K and all the other artificial crap, H2O has no immediate or lasting effects on your health.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12526289489206657949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12333976.post-22308060561537466242008-02-24T15:07:00.000-05:002008-02-24T15:07:00.000-05:00I'm angry with Coke too. I think when they stop making a cola they should give out the recipes so die hard fans won't go crazy and start crying when the taste something similar, like Vault. Vault is an evil tease... It's like Splenda to Sugar to me.... very disappointing. Coke is TRYING to kill it off, but perhaps there's been enough of a surge in sales from us low-carbers that they get the message that we want it to stay. We can only hope. The truth about Coke Zero, however is simple. It is marketed towards men. If you think it's foolish to have one diet beverage for women and one for men, welcome to 21st century branding. It can't be much comfort to you, but Coke seriously was not trying to kill their own product like you claim.sethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00798918302139921689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12333976.post-47333404199504450672006-09-05T18:30:00.000-04:002006-09-05T18:30:00.000-04:00Perhaps they changed their mind, gridline! Is that what you are trying to say?
