Keeping The Right Perspective On Fitness

This cartoon by Randy Glasbergen is a funny, yet dead-on assessment of the state of health and fitness in America today. Don't you wish doctors had the intestinal fortitude to actually say something like this to their overweight and obese patients? I bet this doctor (remember him?!) would do it! ENJOY!

OUCH! The truth hurts, doesn't it? But it's good for you!

That post seems rather different in tone from this one, no?

THANKS for writing, Jeff. Actually, the posts are two entirely different themes.

The link that you provided was about PEOPLE being too blunt with the overweight and obese about their weight problem. This cartoon and post is about DOCTORS doing so.

It is my contention that medical professionals have a responsibility to be blunt and forthright about obesity because they get paid to keep us healthy.

I appreciate the feedback as always!

No problem. I just think there is a hard line to tow when it comes to this stuff. One can be truthful and blunt to a point without saying it in the wrong way.

I can't wait to order my own copy of Anthony Colpo's book! =)

Doctors should be more blunt; if their patients don't like it they can find another doctor who will tell them what they want to hear. No doctor ever confronted me about my weight.

You can be honest and tell the truth without being rude and condescending. This isn't about what anyone wants to hear.
