Five Hot New Low-Carb Blogs For 2007

It's been a while since I've highlighted some of the MANY new low-carb blogs that are out there now, so here are a few that have caught my eye in recent days:


1. "This N That Low Carb Ramblings" blog

Straight from Omaha, Nebraska comes this self-professed "50 year old slightly crazed female" nurse named LadyRed56 who has quite the perspective when it comes to livin' la vida low-carb. I think you'll appreciate her fresh perspective on this amazing lifestyle change that is quietly going about changing people's lives day after day. You never know what you're gonna find at the "This N That Low Carb Ramblings" blog, so bookmark it and check in often!


2. "Shrinking Geek" blog

Okay, anyone who can publicly call himself a "geek" AND post his picture with it deserves a lot of respect in my book. But for the creative and imaginative Andrew Ross, a 30-year old Optical Technician (what the heck is that?!) from California, it fits what he is all about exactly. Subtitling his blog the "Chronicles Of A Low-Carb Junkie," Andrew is currently on his own journey to weight loss and improved health with an impressive blog to boot! Brutally honest at times and absolutely hilarious ALL the time, you won't want to miss the "Shrinking Geek" blog.


3. "Against The Grain" blog

Yes, I know, this is not a brand new blog, but it's been a while since Neader-Steve posted anything at his "Against The Grain" blog. But the 38-year old Aussie made his triumphant return to bloggerland this week with this shocking post about McDonald's in his country receiving an award for serving heart-healthy meals. It's good to have you back, Steve! Keep telling the truth down there in Melbourne, Victoria Australia!


4. "Bonita Gordita" blog

If I translated it right, then the name of this blog is Spanish for "pretty fat girl?" Yep, that's Miss Piggy for her profile pic, too. Hee hee! She's got a great sense of humor about her weight. But at least BG is doing something about it. She calls herself a "chubby momma trying to lose some poundage and better my health without losing my mind" and crafts her message of implementing a lifestyle change in a convincing way. Follow her progress as she seeks to shed 140 pounds. Cheer her on to great success at the "Bonita Gordita" blog.


5. "Just Another Fat Girl" blog

Last but not least we have the weight loss blog from a self-employed Texas woman named Felonee (is that a double entendra? HA! Just kidding!). This 43-year old work-at-home mom isn't really "just another fat girl" because she is DOING something about it! Starting off at 272 pounds in December 2006, she's already down over 30 pounds with 90+ pounds left to go. She keeps it real and even gives some non-diet related commentary that my wife Christine would enjoy! I resemble that remark! I'm rooting for Felonee and will check in on her progress often at the "Just Another Fat Girl" blog.
