Can A Low-Carb Podcast Spur Weight Loss?

Marc Sage is taking his ongoing low-carb journey to podcasting

People ask me all the time what they can do to be as successful at losing weight as I was. Aside from my usual find a plan, do that plan, and keep doing that plan advice that has become my mantra these days, I also urge them to create a blog for accountability. That's something I told the reporter from the Galveston Daily News recently when she interviewed me about why blogs are becoming such an important part of the weight loss journey.

When you share your life in a wide open format like a blog, it's kinda hard to mess up when you know there are readers who are watching you go through this experience. Too often people simply neglect this aspect of their weight loss, but accountability is often the forgotten element that is so key to being successful.

With that said about blogging, what about podcasting? Can you imagine someone who is just starting out livin' la vida low-carb starting his own podcast show to chronicle the experience of losing weight on this way of eating--WHILE IN THE MIDST OF DOING IT?! Well, that's exactly what Marc Sage has done with his brand new low-carb weight loss podcast called "The Low-Carb Show Podcast" available for download on iTunes.

Since Marc's show is so new, you may have trouble finding it. Go to my podcast "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore" on iTunes by typing in "low-carb" in the search section in the iTunes store and you'll see "The Low-Carb Show Podcast" listed among the related shows. Click on that and you'll be able to access this exciting new podcast.

"The Low-Carb Show Podcast" now joins my show as well as BrianZ's "Atkins All The Way Weekly Wrapup" as well as Diana Schnuth's "The Low-Carb Lifestyle Podcast." It's nice to see the low-carb podcast family growing and I'd love to give a quick shout out about YOURS if you decide to join the fun! E-mail me if you do.

Like I did on New Year's day in 2004, Marc made January 1, 2007 the fateful day in his life that he would start the Atkins low-carb diet. He is just about finished with the Induction phase and has lost a total of 7 pounds so far. GREAT JOB, Marc!

So far he has posted two podcast episodes that are relatively short to give people an idea about how his show will sound. Although he's not a professional voiceover announcer (and neither am I!), he comes across as genuine and earnest in his attempt to lose weight the low-carb way.

It will be interesting to hear him discuss the struggles he is having and what he is doing to overcome them. Working in a demanding office job that takes up a lot of his time in the New York area, Marc has already expressed concern about drinking enough water (and even mentioned something I said about water in his second episode!) and getting in his exercise. He's also not getting an adequate amount of sleep, which could pose problems for his low-carb life as well.

With the official web site for "The Low-Carb Show Podcast," Marc is hoping to make it engaging by adding fresh daily content as well as building up a low-carb recipe database. Oooooh, that would be GREAT! I'm sure that will take time to build up, but Marc's up for the challenge.

Being a Jewish Italian, Marc's third episode will feature what to eat on a low-carb diet when eating out at an Italian restaurant. That oughta be good, so be sure to tune in! And don't forget to sign up for a FREE giveaway he is conducting right now for a sealed copy of The Atkins Diet VHS Box Set along with the "Weight Loss For Life" system.

The drawing will take place on Marc's birthday--February 7, 2007! Click here to register and be entered to win! GOOD LUCK!

It's "The Low-Carb Show Podcast" with Marc Sage and I invite you to check it out!
