'Leatherheads' Extras Web Site Now Online

"Leatherheads" extra Jim Fair creates an extras commemorate web site

One of the most amazing experiences of my entire life happened this year and it is something I will not soon forget. A truly "once-in-a-lifetime" chance came my way this year to be cast as an extra in a major Hollywood film starring, directed, and produced by legendary movie star George Clooney called "Leatherheads." Plus, it co-stars the beautiful and talented Renée Zellweger and rising superstar John Krasinski, too!

But the draw of this movie is THE George Clooney who has notably appeared in the television show ER and in a series of hit blockbuster flicks like The Perfect Storm, Ocean's Eleven, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and countless others. This new movie set to release in early 2008 will be Clooney's most ambitious one yet since he is so heavily vested in its success. I wouldn't be surprised to see this film about the birth of professional football in the 1920's nominated for a few Academy Awards.

Dressing up in period costume was a neat part of being an extra

Although I was only on set for four total days, it felt much longer! It wasn't all glamour and glitz, but it was worthy of several blog posts I wrote here about being on the "Leatherheads" set. Check 'em all out at my "Leatherheads" links blog post.

If you'd like to see even more stories from extras on the "Leatherheads" set, then you will definitely want to check out the new web site called TheLeatherheads.com. The brainchild of fellow "Leatherheads" extra Jim Fair, this is the perfect companion for the movie and serve as a bit of nostalgia for those of us in the North and South Carolina areas who were privileged to play the role of an extra.

This site is still a work in progress, so be sure to check back often for updates. Click here to read the stories of the other extras on the set. THANKS for creating this site, Jim, and I'll cherish my own special "Leatherheads" page at your web site.
