LLVLC On YouTube (Episode 40): General Dos And Don'ts Of Low-Carb Induction Part 2

Basics, basics, basics! If you don't even know the bare-bones information about the Induction phase of livin' la vida low-carb, then you can never fully experience all the wonderful benefits this way of eating can afford you. It's one of the reasons why I have been dedicated to sharing this information in my latest YouTube videos. While this doesn't replace what you can learn from Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution or Protein Power, for example, hopefully it will get you started the right way.

In Episode 40 of "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb On YouTube," Christine and I yet again continue what we started in Episode 38 and then in Episode 39 discussing some more of the dos and don'ts of low-carb Induction. In this episode, we discuss the beverages you can drink during Induction, what vitamins you should take during this phase, whether alcohol is permitted or not, and how much food you are supposed to eat. Whether this is brand new and old hat to you, let this be a great refresher course about low-carb Induction.

See even more dos and don'ts of low-carb Induction in today's video:

We'll be sharing some more tips and advice about low-carb Induction as well as menu planning ideas for Induction in our next YouTube video. Another great episode. Is coffee permitted more than three per day if you drink it black? I was a little confused on why it should be limited.

GREAT QUESTION! It's the caffeine that you need to keep limited which is why you should drink no more than 3 cups per day. Decaf works, too, which is why I drink caffeine-free diet sodas. THANKS for watching and for your very insightful question. :D

Hey Michael! Great job! Actually you will stay in ketosis for the rest of Induction and well into your low-carb lifestyle. I still have ketones well over 4 years since I started eating this way. Keep it up!

Jimmy,

I noticed that when you discussed water, you did not recommend the usual 8-8 oz. glasses. Is this related to a recent study I heard about that said people really don't need much water. I've been reading just the opposite and have for so many years now, that I just don't trust that new study.

In fact, Dr. Batmanghelidj who wrote "Your Body's Many Cries for Water" felt that water was the single most important thing we could do to prevent disease. Just wanted to see what your comments might be on the subject -- I still remember the episode where you drank 8-16 oz glasses (a full gallon) of water in your 10-minute show!

I've been away too long - cross country move - I'm glad to be back and so glad you're still here doing your great work!

Welcome back, Orvette! I strongly believe in water consumption as part of a healthy low-carb lifestyle, but it's not really an essential Induction rule. But DEFINITELY drink your water for good health.

By the way, the forum has moved to LivinLowCarbDiscussion.com, so come join sometime when you get settled in. :D
