'Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show' Episode 49: Dr. Atkins Deserves To Be Honored

Episode 49 of "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore" takes a look at an article that was supposed to be honoring the late great Dr. Robert C. Atkins for his contribution to the diet debate, but it instead delves deep into the typical low-fat propaganda. Check it out and hear my commentary about this nonsense by listening to today's podcast:

We know and love the lessons that Dr. Atkins taught about carbohydrate restriction as a means for losing weight, controlling diabetes, and getting healthy. But there are still millions more who STILL misunderstand what the Atkins diet is really all about. Columns like this one that appeared in the Los Angeles Times further distort the truth about low-carb living.

In Episode 49, low-fat diet guru Dr. Dean Ornish and some other so-called health "experts" pay homage to Dr. Atkins, but they aren't necessarily giving him kudos for his contributions to health. Of course, you know I'm gonna call them on their bluff and set the record straight! :)

Why do all these columns that are meant to be positive towards Dr. Atkins have to be tainted with such vile hatred and antagonism towards this remarkable man? Can't we just give credit where credit is due for once? Share your comments about what you think the legacy of this amazing man was on our society.

Stay tuned starting this Thursday for a series of interviews from the American Society Of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP) conference in Nashville, Tennessee. We'll start with ASBP President Dr. Mary C. Vernon on Thursday and then feature the rest of the interviews I did this past weekend with an eclectic group of bariatric physicians. It'll be a regular feature on Thursdays until they all have aired. ENJOY!
