Even More Podcast Praise Pouring In
"The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore" podcast continues to build momentum as more and more people are finding out about it for the first time. After just two episodes, literally hundreds upons hundreds of people have been exposed to the positive message of livin' la vida low-carb. I fully expect the audience to grow even bigger as so many of you get the word out about the show. THANK YOU! The outpouring of support from my fellow low-carb and weight loss web site friends has been rewarding and I am truly grateful for their assistance in getting the word about the show as well. Additionally, I've gotten plenty of feedback from the listeners, too! Before I get to some of that, it's time to announce the winner of the FREE BOX OF GOLOWER CHOCOLATE CREME BARS. The winner of this contest for correctly identifying the number of times I said "Australia" in Episode 2 as three is... CATHY C. from ALABAMA!!!CONGRATULATIONS, Cathy! Enjoy those GoLower Creme bars! You are one of the very first Americans who will have the chance to taste these amazing bars which will be coming to America very soon. ENJOY and THANK YOU for listening! Here are MORE comments I received about my latest podcast: It is a great show. The sound quality was much improved for Episode 2. I'm looking forward to future episodes. ***************** I greatly appreciated the improved sound quality of this episode. The studies you presented were fascinating, and I especially like the way you make thing simple to understand. Do I detect a (slight) Southern accent? I’ve been loving your blog, which I discovered about 6 months ago. The podcast is also a great source of information and encouragement. ***************** GREAT JOB on your second podcast--people really need to know what's going on with these studies and you're doing a great job of getting the word out. ***************** Although I find your show informative, it is way too short. Just as I am getting "hooked" into listening to what you are saying, you are signing off. Thanks for putting your show out there. More people need to try low carbing. ***************** I liked the new podcast. I am looking forward to future casts, maybe some with motivation tools for those of us “long timers." ***************** Great job!!!!!!! Your show is so informative. ***************** Loved your show today. I have lost 85 pounds low carbing. When people question the healthiness of this diet, I have so many rebuttals for them because of your blog and now your podcast. Keep up the good work! ***************** Thanks for starting such a great service! I am an avid reader of your blog but to finally hear you regularly on your podcast really helps me to stay on the right track. The only thing that I can think you can do to improve your show is to: 1. Make it longer 2. Take a longer breath between sentences. ***************** I just listened to your second podcast, and thought it was even better than the first one! You are in your element, and the enthusiasm comes across loud and clear. Thanks Jimmy for providing us low-carbers with plenty of great information and motivation! *****************Once again, I REALLY appreciate the feedback and WANT to hear from YOU! Be sure to check out the feedback left at iTunes as well. THANK YOU to everyone who has commented and feel free to keep sharing your remarks with us! By the way, my podcast show won't be longer than 10-15 minutes because it would tend to get boring if it runs longer than that. Perhaps I will consider doing more than one show weekly, but I think the show should get a few more listeners before doing that. If the show hits a certain number of listeners, then I will probably add one or two extra podcasts each week. It will add more work on me, but worth every moment invested to bringing you the best low-carb information possible. As for providing information for veterans of the low-carb lifestyle, honestly I probably can't tell those of you in this category ANYTHING about low-carb that you don't already know through your own personal experience. While I won't ignore issues that deal with being on low-carb long-term, most of the podcasts will be geared towards helping educate those who don't know as much about low-carb as you do. Don't let that discourage you, though. Consider it a refresher course! :D Tune in on Monday for more of "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show" as well as another SUPER prize in a contest for listening to Episode 3 next week. You WON'T want to miss it! Please spread the word to your friends, family, and those curious about low-carb living. Until then, keep on livin' la vida low-carb! Having A Blast With My Low-Carb Podcast
I really didn't know exactly what to expect when the fine people over at Grasshopper New Media approached me about doing my own weekly podcast show featuring the low-carb lifestyle from my perspective. Sure, I had done some Christian music radio work back in the 1990s while I was in graduate school and even hosted my own weekly Christian hit countdown show. That was a lot of fun and I have really missed doing that! But podcasting is a little bit different from radio. There's not a LIVE audience you are broadcasting to when you are recording. Thus, there is no way to instantly interact with your listeners in an engaging way about the various topics you are talking about. I suppose you could call that a downside to podcasting, but I don't. By the way, in case you've missed the first few shows, go check 'em out: PROTOTYPEEPISODE 1EPISODE 2The ace in the sleeve of this cutting edge new format is the fact that people can STILL interact in an even better way (IMHO!) by leaving comments about the show. You can do that very easily at the official "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore" blog, at the brand new MySpace.com page for the show, with the super-easy MobaTalk Comment System (located just beneath my picture on the show's web site--GIVE IT A TRY!), and at the iTunes store. That last one, the iTunes store, is EXTREMELY important for several reasons. First, feedback left there shows other people there is a genuine interest in the show. Second, curious onlookers rely on feedback from fellow podcast listeners to convince them a new podcast is worth trying out for themselves. Of course, if you hated the show, you have a right to share that, too, but I haven't heard anyone say the show stinks...at least not to my face! :) Finally, it lets us know how we are doing and whether we need to make any improvements. If you have access to iTunes, I would like to request you do one thing for me: leave SOME kind of feedback there and rate the show regardless of your opinions. I'm a big boy and can take it! If you hated it, then say why. If you loved it, don't be too shy to share. This may seem insignificant, but your feedback at iTunes could be all that's needed to move this show into the next level in a short amount of time. I cannot begin to tell you how much this would help the show continue to ride the early wave of success it has already seen. My goal is for "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show" podcast to reach far beyond the walls of the low-carb community and well into the mainstream of public health circles. Those of us who have made this way of eating our preferred method for eating already know that livin' la vida low-carb is an extremely healthy lifestyle, but there's still so much work left to do convincing the vast majority of others this fact. I'll never stop trying! Even if you don't have access to iTunes, we'd still LOVE to read your comments in any of the other formats I mentioned previously. Some of the early feedback I have been receiving about the show has been helpful: They love hearing my voice, it's exciting to have a new format to learn more about low-carb, I'm talking too fast, the information provided is educational, the show is too short and ends just when it's getting good, and so much more! THESE are the kind of comments we WANT to hear from you and we are grateful for the constructive criticism as well as the compliments. You can learn how to subscribe to the RSS feed for the show by clicking here and we even have an e-mail alert system to let you know when new content has been added to "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show" web site. Enter your e-mail address in the box located in the upper right-hand section of the page and you will be notified when the site is updated! Ever since the podcast aired for the first time a couple of weeks ago, the overwhelming support I have received from the low-carb and weight loss communities has been utterly amazing to see. There is not a more loving or caring group of people than those of us who are seeking to help the overweight and obese lose weight and get healthy. This was clearly illustrated by the myriad of mentions my new show has received since its debut. The following is a rundown of the various comments that have been made about "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore": LOW-CARB DAVE"Will anything stop this man? Jimmy Moore's enthusiasm for low carb seems unstoppable! I've listened to his show and it's very inspirational. You get that personal passion from his voice, that you cannot get purely from his writing."LIVIN' IN OHIO LOW-CARB"Wow, what an uplifting experience to be able to hear Jimmy's voice coming to you through your computer. It's like having your own radio tuned into your favorite channel. Now you can have Jimmy speak to you right from his website."OBESITY DISCUSSION"For those who have had the pleasure of reading Jimmy's Livin' La Vida Low Carb blog, he's now going podcast! He's looking to be interactive with his listeners to better his show, so this could be a chance to work closely with a true success story and help him shape his future podcasts!"THE LOW-CARB LIFESTYLE PODCASTFellow low-carb podcaster Diana Schnuth plugs my new show! KENT ALTENA"One of the things that impressed me about his first episode is how much of a natural he is in front of the mike. If anyone saw the rough cuts of my [how to do Atkins/low-carb] videos, they would know I am not necessarily the greatest ad libber in the world. Jimmy certainly does not have that problem in print with his prolific defense of the low carb lifestyle, and now it is apparent he does not have the problem orally either."BECAUSE I SAID SO"I don't mind saying that I will only endorse those that I believe have potential. He's GOLD I tell you. I listened to the first podcast and not only felt motivated, but laughed and enjoyed listening. Best of all, it was less than 10 minutes long from start to finish. Yeah folks, you can get a weekly dose of carb-controlled, nutrient-dense, advice from a man who actually read and followed the Atkin's plan."KUDOS FOR LOW-CARB"Jimmy has earned his solid reputation as a low carbohydrate lifestyle advocate, and he deserves the low carb community's support after everything he has done to promote a healthy low carb lifestyle. This new podcast is an apt and entertaining format for getting the word out about low-carb. Please join Jimmy in this exciting foray into the ever-challenging diet world. No doubt you’ll be entertained and learn something of value."THE FREE RADICAL REPORT W/RICHARD MORRIS"Jimmy proves, once again, that the power to change is in your hands. How you do it is up to you. Just do it. Drop in on Jimmy and check out his new show."LOW-CARB CHRISTIANS FORUM"Check it out--low-carb goes podcast!"LOW-CARB SCOOP FORUMShayne Sherbert, who looks absolutely incredible following her triple-digit low-carb weight loss, gives a shout-out about my new pdocast. His strongest belief is that the power to change is in your hands and he hopes the podcasts will inspire. If you're trying to lose weight - how you do it is up to you. His experience is there to help you 'Just do it.' Take a moment and drop on over and check out his new show."GRASSHOPPER NEW MEDIA"The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show was ranked 20th in iTunes for Health-related podcasts. That’s amazing! I think it’s a testament to Jimmy’s audience and the community he and others have built around the low-carb lifestyle."LOW-CARB CENTRAL NEWSLETTER"We've encouraged you to visit his wildly popular blog and read his inspiring and motivating book about his extraordinary weight loss. Now it’s time to hear directly from the man himself who has taken the low-carb lifestyle to the next level. Sincere Adoration Pours In For 'The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show' Podcast
The debut week of my brand new podcast called "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore" has been a thrilling experience for me as so many of my "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb" blog readers have shared their comments about the show as well as many new listeners at iTunes and elsewhere who have never been exposed to a positive presentation of the low-carb life. I can't wait for many more new and engaging episodes to come along in the coming weeks and months and the momentum of my new show continues to build. THANK YOU!!! Well, I suppose you'd like to know who won the FREE 12-PACK OF CHOCOPERFECTION BARS, huh? The chocolate giveaway contest winner for correctly identifying the number of times I said "rump" in Episode 1 as one is...(drumroll please!) KAY W. from VIRGINIA!!!CONGRATULATIONS, Kay! WOO HOO!!! You will be receiving one dozen of the best-tasting low-carb dark chocolate bars on the planet in the mail real soon from our friends at Low-Carb Specialities. THANKS so much for listening and sharing your feedback with me about the show. In fact, check out what she had to say about "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show": I really liked hearing your voice, especially your “Southern” drawl. Seriously, you did a great intro. I am looking forward to in-depth discussions of the low-carb lifestyle. This one was basic and that’s good too. Maybe you can do a question and answer thing. Thanks for carrying the torch for the low-carb lifestyle.Well, hooooowdy! LOL! I didn't know my accent was THAT bad. Hee hee! But that's okay because it is who I am. As for her other comments, I want to provide good basic information as well as some complex issues like the ones that will be featured in Episode 2 coming on October 30, 2006! It's gonna be a REALLY good one, so don't miss it! :D Here is just a small sampling of some more of the many comments I received about the new podcast show: I just listened to your first podcast, and thought it was excellent! You did a great job, and I look forward to many, many more of your podcasts. ***************** What did I like about the show? That you are continuing to share with others about the low-carb lifestyle. I believe it is so important for all of us to keep spreading the word that this really is a healthy lifestyle and for everyone to stop believing the lies we have been told our entire lives. Thanks for keeping the good word on low-carb living going! ***************** I enjoyed your show very much. Since I’ve been living the low-carb way of life for over five years, the information you provided was pretty basic to me. But I believe you’ll be inspiring to others. Finding a plan, reading the book and sticking to it is a great starting point for people. I also liked that you told the truth, that losing weight is never easy, but it gets easier with time. Good luck with your show! ***************** I enjoyed the podcast (although as a fan of your blog, there wasn't anything new in what you said--just good advice). Good luck as you move into a new way of getting the word out. ***************** Love your podcast--it's fun to hear a voice with the writing I enjoy so much! All the best--thanks for all you do! ***************** Loved the podcast. How often will you have new episodes and will it always be a free podcast? (heck do they even charge for them?) Thanks for your blog too...I check it daily. ***************** I loved the podcast. Your enthusiasm about the low-carb lifestyle is bound to appeal to those people who have tried many diet plans and need to find some way to lose weight. I love the way you share your own experiences as a way to encourage people to get off their "rump" and give it a try. The only thing that I can think of to change is the sound quality. I listen via my iPod and the sound didn't come through as clear as other podcasts that I listen to. By the way, I downloaded the podcast from iTunes. It certainly won't keep me from listening, but I just thought I'd mention it since you are asking for feedback. Keep up the good work, Jimmy. I love your blog and am excited to know that now I can also listen to you now, too. ***************** I liked the honesty that you bring across and sincerity. I also liked that you had to find your own way of dieting...read, and read again. I did the same thing, there are such a wealth of knowledge out there on what is good for the body, and listening to your body. I like that you didn't just say, well, I did the Atkins diet or the South Beach. What you are teaching is, look around, there are dozens of books all trying to steer us in this better way of life. You are also here to help! That's great. I'll keep listening if you'll keep preachin'! ***************** I thought it was very good. And I hope to get more ideas in order to get me back on the track of the low-carb life I have been leading for the last 8 years. ***************** Great podcast! I love your enthusiasm! I am very encouraged from listening to you and I love your book and blog too. THANKS and keep up the great work! *****************WOW, fantastic feedback everyone! I'm happy to hear that you like the show and we are working on ways to make it better. The sound quality issue is one that I've been trying to fix for most of the week and I think you'll hear a "clear" difference in Episode 2 on Monday. In fact, it'll be like night and day with the clarity, I promise you. THANKS for the constructive criticism, it's gonna make the show better already! As for the information provided being "basic" or "old news," I can certainly understand the concerns of people who have been on low-carb for a while or who read my blog every single day. But everyone who listens to this podcast show will be at different levels from long-time low-carbers to people still losing weight to beginners to those simply curious about what this way of eating is all about. I'm trying to reach them all and can't do it in a single episode or with one particular style. I'll mix it up, but will always focus on a positive presentation of information about low-carb. Just keep listening and you might be surprised to hear something that you thought you "knew" about, but perhaps you will look at it in a different way now. What you get out of my podcast show is up to you. Keep an open mind and look for something new to learn and pass on to others about livin' la vida low-carb. Encouragement, education and a little entertainment is what has made my blog what it is and will most certainly define what my podcast is as well. As an added incentive to listen to upcoming episodes of "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show," I have lined up several freebie opportunities from your favorite low-carb companies over the next few weeks to entice you to listen. Be looking for your next chance to win again coming up next week! THANKS again for your support for "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore" podcast. Rave Reviews For Livin' La Vida Low-Carb
Although this blog has only been online for just a few short days, the response I have been getting from readers has been nothing short of pleasantly overwhelming. I am both humbled and honored that this is a place people would want to come to read and learn more about the low-carb lifestyle. Hopefully this is just the beginning of many great things to come and I hope to hear from more of you via e-mail at musicbuyer@aol.com or by leaving a comment at the end of this blog entry. Here's just a sampling of some of the comments I have received: Doug writes: "I have surveyed your site and find it very interesting. You are obviously very passionate about your weight loss success and the low carb approach. Quite frankly, you are the first person I have found that is as obsessed about low carb as I am."Sharon writes: "What a fabulous success story! Congratulations to you. I was very impressed with your blog site and have cross-linked your post to the Low Fat vs. Atkins debate (on AOL) ... there are a few there that knock this way of life so badly, they need to hear it again from a fresh voice! Keep up the great work!"Lynne writes: "I love your web site - thanks. We could use you over at the debate board (on AOL) as well. If you can stand up to some of the anti-low carb BS that is! Please join us!"Ruthie writes: "I checked out your blog, great job by the way!!! Congratulations on your success!!!!"Danielle writes: "I made your blog a hyperlink and sent it out to a few of my friends. Once again, very inspirational. It was nice to see a picture also. Good luck on the book!!! I hope OPRAH calls."Sheila writes: "What an absolutely fabulous concept for a blog! After taking a glimpse at all of your valuable information and links, I will certainly not only be visiting 'Livin' La Vida Low-Carb' regularly, but will recommend it to those looking for up-to-date low-carb news and Atkins inspiration. I cannot believe what a gorgeous job you have done with this blog - well done!! Reading through your blog and comments, I was so pleased to see that we are much in agreement and we are about not only low-carbing and Atkins, but how not to low-carb (i.e., attempting to incorporate low-fat fare). Your writing is incredibly impressive; do keep up the good work, as you are certainly inspiring so many people in helping them discover that there is weight loss hope for them yet. God bless you."Linda writes: "I am so excited for your book to come out. Atkins needs a huge shot in the arm and I feel you are the one to do it. :)"Linda Marie writes: "I will buy your book! I have so much weight to lose. I don't know where to begin. Ugh. I weigh 363 lbs. I am 46 and desperate. I need to be taught what to do."Jim writes: "Enjoyed your blog and the success of your low-carb way of eating. I started @ 385 pounds 20 months ago ... haven't maintained constant adherence to low-carb, but recommitted to it 30 days ago ... I'm down to 295 as of this morning. The lightest I've ever been as an adult is 225 ... at 5'11" higher than the weight charts, but then again these are designed by the same folks who push low-fat, high carb eating day in and day out."Lisa writes: "Wow!!! Congrats, Jimmy, I've only glanced at your blog and I'm already excited! I didn't realize you'd written so many articles on low-carb living, and I'm definitely going to use those many links provided. The only bummer is, I found out I'm pregnant this past January, so I'll need to have the baby before I can get back to some serious low-carbing. But I'm not giving up! Anyway, congrats again on all the recognition and the great blog. I'll be visiting frequently!"Tanya writes: "I need a little inspiration right now! Things are really tough for me right now with the low-carb lifestyle. Ever since I started working 48+ hour per week, my eating schedule is all messed up ... and so that has thrown me way out of whack! Unfortunately I am up 10 lbs up from my lowest weight. I know it don't seem like much, but my clothes definitely tell me different! LOL! I look forward to reading your book! ;)"Tommy writes: "Great site! I really enjoyed it."Labels: blog, Livin' La Vida Low-Carb, praise
