Dixie Diner's Ready-To-Eat Low-Carb Fudge
Tasty and firm ready-to-eat low-carb fudge without sugar alcoholsFudge was a household tradition in my family when I was growing up. Especially around the holidays, my momma used to whip up a big batch of homemade fudge to ship to friends and loved ones as well as for our immediate family to enjoy. It's such a shame that this sugary, high-carb food has to be so unhealthy for you to eat when you start livin' la vida low-carb. So, in my quest to find a low-carb version of fudge, let me tell you how disappointed I was in most of them. They were either too soft (who likes a squishy block of fudge), tasted awful (needs to be a rich, flavorful hunk of chocolate), or were too artificial (you gotta make fudge homemade and not in a chemical lab). UGH! Can't somebody come up with an authentically great-tasting low-carb fudge that tastes like the stuff momma used to make? Uh-huh and it's from our friends at Dixie Diner yet again. They call it Carb Counters Ready-to-Eat Fudge and I have to tell you I'm quite impressed! This fudge is just the way I remembered it as a child, but even better! Only 3g net carbs per one-ounce serving, this low-carb fudge is absolutely decadent and loaded with healthy amounts of fiber, fat, and protein that your body needs in each delicious bite. As we have come to expect from Dixie Diner products, this ready-to-eat fudge contains NO SUGAR ALCOHOLS or polydextrose. Yeah, no gas-inducing maltitol in this fudge! Available in Chocolate and Peanut Butter flavors, the Carb Counters Ready-to-Eat Fudge is an excellent low-carb snack or treat you can use to stay committed to the low-carb lifestyle. Also, if you are sensitive to wheat gluten, you'll be glad to know this fudge is gluten-free! Here is the list of ingredients in this amazing fudge: Chocolate, vegetable fiber, coconut oil, palm oil, water, heavy cream, maltodextrin, milk protein concentrate, whey protein concentrate, natural flavor, low glycemic monosaccharides, sodium caseinate, salt, soy lecithin, carrageenan, sodium bicarbonate, low glycemic fruit concentrateTry some Carb Counters Ready-to-Eat Fudge TODAY! Low-Carb Cinnamon Buns From Dixie Diner
Hot and sweet sticky buns--without the sugar and white flour! It's a sad fact, but most of my childhood memories are about food. When I was growing up, my momma used to have a tradition on Sunday morning before we went to church. What did she do? She bought those 99 cent cans of cinnamon buns with the little plastic container of sugary icing that would melt on top of the rolls as they came hot out of the oven in about 15 minutes. Between my brother Kevin and I, it didn't take long to devour that whole cookie sheet of these in very short order. Is it any wonder how we got to be so morbidly obese as adults? If I had known better as a child, then I would have avoided those unhealthy high-carb breakfast disasters like the plague. I didn't then, but I do now. But that doesn't mean I don't like the taste of cinnamon buns today. What can I do, though, since I'm avoiding sugar and white flour? Is there really such a thing as low-carb cinnamon buns? YEP, there sure is! They are the Dixie Carb Counters Glazed Cinnamon Bun Mix from Dixie Diner. I was privileged enough to try these new low-carb cinnamon buns for myself today and the aroma was so nostalgic! Warm and relaxing smells of cinnamon filled up my kitchen as this quick and easy mix was baking up hot and fresh in less than 10 minutes. All I needed to add to the mix was butter, heavy whipping cream, and a large egg. That's it! Of course, the instructions called for rolling up the dough into buns with the cinnamon mixture on top. Too confusing to me! Instead, I just pressed most of the dough in the bottom of a pan, spread the cinnamon stuff on top of that, and then put the rest of the dough on top of that just prior to putting it in the 375-degree oven. The nutritional label and ingredients are top notch!I was quite surprised that the texture and taste were just as I remembered it. Thankfully, though, I only consumed 3g net carbs per serving (you get 8 buns from this package!). Yummy to my tummy! The leftovers easily freeze and make a great sweet snack for breakfast or anytime! With 6g fiber and 3g protein per cinnamon bun, the Dixie Carb Counters Glazed Cinnamon Bun Mix gives you a delicious and healthy version of something you thought you'd never get to eat again on your low-carb lifestyle. Now you can! For a special low-carb dessert, warm one of these up in the microwave with a scoop of CarbSmart vanilla ice cream on top. Oh my gosh, this stuff's the bomb, baby! Let me know if you try these cinnamon buns. They're amazing! Labels: breakfast, buns, Carb Counters, cinnamon, dessert, Dixie Diner, low-carb, products
Snack On The Crunchy Low-Carb 'Texas Toasters'
Each 6-piece serving of "Texas Toasters" has just 1g net carbTraditional bread made with white flour is taboo when you are livin' la vida low-carb. But when you are eating a salad and want something crunchy to eat with it or if you get the inkling for some tuna salad or other hors d'voures on your low-carb lifestyle, it would be nice to have an all-natural and delicious low-carb alternative you can turn to. Now you've got it! It's called Carb Counters "Texas Toasters" Twice Ovenbaked Bread Crisps from our friends at the Houston, TX-based Dixie Diner. I couldn't believe these were low-carb the first time I ate them because they are really quite delicious and give you that need for a salty side item with a crispy crunch. Here are the ingredients: Soy concentrate, cheese, corn starch, wheat-free cereal fiber, egg whites, canola oil, baking powder (monocalcium phosphate, sodium bicarbonate), vegetable fiber, spices, dried onions, parsley, sea salt, low glycemic monosaccharide, low glycemic fruit concentrate. My favorite part about these all-natural tasty bread crisps with absolutely ZERO artificial ingredients or preservatives in them is the fact that they only have 1g net carbs for about 6 of them. WOW! That's hardly anything on your carb counts (even during Induction!) and yet you'll get to enjoy the benefits of eating these with confidence knowing they won't throw your low-carb diet into a tizzy! Plus, you get 7g protein and 3g carbs in each serving of these wheat-free Carb Counters "Texas Toasters" as well. For those of you looking for ways to boost your potassium intake, these also contain 165mg potassium to help with those painful leg cramps you may have on your low-carb plan. You'll be amazed by how awesome these taste and they come in three scrumptuous flavor varieties: Good N Plain, Dill & Onion, and Pizza (my personal favorite)! You can top them with a little spaghetti sauce, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese for some mini-pizzas. Or scoop them in some French onion dip for a yummy snack. The possibilities for eating these are endless! Go ahead and try them for yourself--the Carb Counters "Texas Toasters."Labels: bread, Carb Counters, crisps, Dixie Diner, fiber, low-carb, potassium, products, protein, Texas Toasters
Going Nuts Over Fresh Low-Carb Donuts
Yes, Virginia, you can now have donuts on your low-carb lifestylePeople who start livin' la vida low-carb generally have to make a choice--permanently change their old eating habits away from the high-carb foods that have long plagued their weight and health or find some low-carb alternatives that will fulfill and satisfy their desires. If you want to be successful with your low-carb plan, then there's no negotiating this point. But what if that food you used to love before you started low-carbin' it was the worst possible food you can eat on a low-carb diet--DONUTS! Yeppers, that's quite a conundrum to overcome because up until now there hasn't been anything even remotely close to the authentic taste of real donuts for people who are livin' la vida low-carb. Thankfully, though, all of that has changed and now there is! It's called Dixie Carb Counters Bakery Style Donut Mix made by our friends at Dixie Diner. I will admit to you that I was quite skeptical about making these donuts the first time I did it because I really didn't think they would taste very good at all based on some of the other so-called "donut" products for low-carbers in the past. Somebody should slap me with a wet noodle for doubting--these low-carb donuts are AWESOME, baby! The Dixie Diner low-carb donuts are baked in a special pan, not friedYou can pick your favorite flavored--either chocolate, glazed, or powdered--donut mix, stir in a little butter and heavy cream, pour the batter in your donut pan, and wait for the tintillating and familiar aroma to fill your kitchen in about 15 minutes for that one-of-a-kind donut taste you have always known and loved. I really wouldn't have believed it if I didn't try them for myself. With 8g fiber, 6g protein, and only 2g net carbs per donut, what a delightful treat to have every once in a while without sacrificing your low-carb plan. This mix does not contain any sugar alcohols and cooks up 6 hot and delicious low-carb donuts for you and your family to enjoy. There is an optional donut holes recipe included on the back of the packaging as well. If you don't eat all of the donuts you make, then they will stay fresh in your freezer for you to heat up and eat as a healthy low-carb snack later on. Do you know what I did to spruce up my low-carb donuts even more? Mr. Smarty Pants here thought about donuts from his childhood and remembered, "Oh yeah, how about a JELLY donut?!" So, I took some of my Splenda-sweetened Smucker's jelly and scooped a dab of it in the middle of one of the powdered donuts for my own homemade low-carb jelly donut. SWEET...LITERALLY! :) But NOT with sugar and that's way cool! Try the Dixie Carb Counters Bakery Style Donut Mix for yourself and see if you agree with me that it's the best donut you've ever had on a low-carb diet hands down! Mmmm mmmm! I'd like to introduce you to the brand new ready-to-eat low-carb cookies that Dixie Diner has introduced to the market this year. I had the opportunity to try these cookies for myself this week and I wasn't expecting them to taste much better than flavored cardboard. It's nothing against Dixie Diner, but most packaged low-carb products are just plain disgusting. But not the Dixie Carb Counters Everyday Gourmet Good Cookies which contain only 2g net carbs per cookie. They come packaged with three mouthwatering and surprisingly soft treats that are gluten-free with no sugar alcohols or polydextrose and are all-natural. Featuring four rather unique flavors, including Cinnamon Apple, Island Lime, Orange Ginger Chocolate, and Peanut Butter, you won't be able to resist these delicious and nutritious cookies made from wholesome low-carb ingredients, such as almonds, egg whites, whey protein, coconut oil, real fruit, and so much more. There are no fillers or junk in these cookies which are sweetened naturally. When I didn't see Splenda or ACE-K in the ingredients list on these cookies, I was bracing for them to taste terrible. But nothing could have been further from the truth. They were really awesome and I will certainly buy these again and again. If I was disappointed with anything about these cookies, it would be the fact that they didn't have a chocolate chip (my favorite!) or white chocolate macadamia nut flavor. Perhaps if these sell well, they will consider other flavors like these. Dixie Carb Counters brand also makes low-carb cookie mixesHowever, if you like getting in the kitchen and baking up your own fresh, hot cookies, then Dixie Diner also makes outstanding low-carb cookie mixes in various flavors, including Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Coconut Macaroon, and Ginger. Thanksgiving doesn't have to be a high-carb feastCan you believe we are only TWO WEEKS away from Thanksgiving? WOW, that's coming fast and I personally can't wait. Christine and I will be traveling down to Florida for the extended holiday weekend to surprise my brother Kevin since we don't know how much longer he may be with us (THANK YOU for your continued prayers!). We are so excited about getting away for a few days to be with family (although that'll mean NO BLOGGING for a few days--EEEEEK!). Thanksgiving is an odd day for low-carbers. The centerpiece dish--THE TURKEY--is indeed low-carb, but just about everything else is whacked out on carbs! Wussup with that?! Sadly, most people fill up their Thanksgiving dinner table with carb-loaded foods like stuffing, mashed potatoes, biscuits, cranberry sauce, gravy and so much more, but let me tell you about a few of my favorite low-carb versions of these same foods that will keep you livin' la vida low-carb even through Thanksgiving! :) LOW-CARB STUFFING Dixie Carb Counters Oven Stuffin' MixLOW-CARB CRANBERRY SAUCE Steel's Gourmet Spiced Cranberry SauceLOW-CARB MASHED POTATOES Dixie Carb Counter Instant MashersLOW-CARB MACARONI & CHEESE Dreamfields PastaLOW-CARB BISCUITS Dixie Carb Counters Country Biscuit MixLOW-CARB GRAVY Road's End Organics Low Carb & Gluten Free Gravy MixesLOW-CARB BROWNIES Dixie Carb Counters One Carb Brownie MixLOW-CARB HOT CHOCOLATE Dixie Carb Counters Holy Cow Sugar Free Cocoa MixLOW-CARB SPICE CAKES Dixie Carb Counters Snackin' Cake MixesLOW-CARB LEMON MERINGUE PIE Dixie Carb Counters Lemon Merinue Pie KitLOW-CARB CHEESECAKE Expert Foods Wise CHOice Easy Cheesecake MixNeed some more suggestions for YOUR Thanksgiving feast?
